CGV has a non-member booking option. Being foreign is not the block. The friction is the Korean-only sequence around the seat map, guest details, payment provider, and confirmation. CGV’s own FAQ also says non-member online bookings do not receive member discounts.
The result is a bad use of time when a specific seat matters. You can reach the payment window, lose the transaction, and return to a different seat map.
For a normal screening with plenty of seats, use the CGV box office or kiosk. It removes the online checkout problem. Check the live schedule before traveling to the branch and arrive with time to buy.
That option is weaker when the screening is likely to sell out. Concert films, stage greetings, limited anime screenings, premium formats, and opening-weekend sessions can move quickly.

Yes. Use the box office or self-service kiosk when seats are available. That is the cheapest self-service option. It does not protect you from a sellout before you arrive, especially for concert films, anime events, stage greetings, and other limited screenings.
